Beauty Bargain of the Week - Mess Head 3 Day Smoothing Spray

Hey everyone... I've been slighted MIA the past few weeks but I'm getting back into it.
So to start off October ( I know we are 5 days in already but better late than never ;) )

I've not really touched on hair products or hair care too much lately so I thought this brilliant product was worth a Mondays Beauty Bargain mention... Its ONLY €1.50
Yep that's right!! I picked this up in EURO GIANT about 2/3 weeks ago.
It's a leave in spray to Dane frizzy unruly hair. Leaving it sleek and smooth.... And it just just that.
My hair isnt super frizzy but can be quite unruly. I applied it to my hair after washing it from the mid sections to the the ends. The spray bottle makes it easy to get an even spray throughout the hair.

Blow drying my hair was so much easier instead of having to go over each section a few times each section was done in half the time. I had no fly away bits or anything and it stayed straight and much more silky. I got 3 days before I had to wash my hair again and I think that was because I wasn't touching or messying at it as much so wasn't as greasy.
My hair is quite fine so once I touch or run my fingers through it I don't get long at all.  This is defiantly a must have and for only €1.50 you can't go wrong!!

I have tried many many hair products over time and none have left my hair like this... Most products can leave my hair tacky, or leave a residue in my hair giving it that "greasy" look so a lot of the time I shy away from hair products unless its a finishing oil that I run through the end of my hair to keep it under control.

I would highly recommend this product for all hair types so make sure the next time you are passing a Euro Giant run in a pick one up!!
I picked mine up at the Euro Giant just off the Kylemore Road.

Beauty Bargain of the Week - Makeup Revolution Ultra Face Base Primer €6.45

So I recently picked up this AMAZING primer from Superdrug in the Square Shopping Centre in Tallaght.  Its only €6.45 which is a great price for such a great product.

I've tried and tested quite a few primers oveew the last year or so. As they are such an essential for everyday, going out makeup both for professional makeup artists and everyone in general I'm always on the hunt for a good high end and budget friendly primer...  well I think I have found the budget friendly one from Makeup Revolution.

When using a primer you only ever use a pea sized anount when applying primer.. otherwise too much almost does the opposite of a primers job. You always apply it before makeup and after you apply moisturiser.
It acts a barrier between your skin and makeup. Making your makeup last longer.  It prevents any oil getting through onto your makeup giving you that oily look on the nose,  t-zone and the chin. It also gives the skin a flawless finish and base so as your foundation will glide onto the skin.... so that's why we ALL should be using a primer!!

This one is great. I didn't have any problems whatsoever with it.. my make up did not budge one bit.  No oily nose (which I always get) and I've also noticed my skin looks less dry or dehydrated when I remove my makeup.
Its ment to make your makeup last 24 hours.... now I dono about you but I don't wear my make up that long or sleep in makeup but from morning to night it doesn't budge!!

So if you're looking for a good quality budget friendly makeup primer then this is the one!! Makeup Revolution can be brought online from the link above or if you have a Superdrug store near you they also have a Makeup Revolution stand in most stores around the country.

If you pick one up or plan on picking one make sure you let me know how you get on :)

Jules Restaurant

So I popped into Jules Restaurant on Dame Street, Dublin for lunch recently. It was formally Les Freres Jacques and had been beautifully transformed into Jules.

The staff in the restaurant are very friendly and attentive. It's a lovely laid back relaxed atmosphere which I loved.

Here is the lunch menu. The portion size was perfect so much so that we ended up having three courses :) It's not very often that I'd be able to sit and have a starter, main and desert. Here's a look at the menu...

There was a great selection in every course which I liked along with great specials of the day... It was so hard to pick what to have!!
I love muscles so I couldn't resist having them to start. They came with scallops, in mash and garlic butter. They where delicious.
The presentation on the plate was fabulous.

So for mains we had Pulled Pork & Orange Crepe with Orange Segments and Meat Jus.

Roasted Corn-Fed Chicken Breast Served with Pancetta Puy Lentils

And last but not least for desert we had White Chocolate & Passionfruit in 3 Cups Brulee Topping & Fruit Coulis Side

and Pain Perdu Brioche Bread Pudding with Baileys Ice Cream & Butterscotch Sauce

The meal we had was so nice and we could definitely be returning again. The price range is very reasonable which is great and will definitely be retuning again.
Jules is a great place to go with the girls or for a romantic night out with that special someone in you're life. The best part about it is you don't even have to leave after you're meal, you can sit at the bar for a few drinks and of course some cocktails :)

So if you're looking for some where to go, a break from the norm or dare I say it... In the run up to Christmas or Christmas night out.... Yes I said it!! Christmas!! Then this is defiantly the place to be.

Jules is located on 74 Dame Street, Dublin

Wednesday's How To Guide - Applying Individual false lashes.

False lashes can be tricky at the best if times but when it comes to applying them on yourself it can be even harder especially the individual ones!! So this week I'm going to show you how to apply them.
It doesn't matter what type you use they are all applied in the same way. Durability all comes down to the glue you use and if they get wet or not.... So when wearing falsies avoid the tears ladies!!!

What I'm using to show you how to apply the individual lashes is...
Penny's / Primark Lashes €1.50

Duo Glue & Tweezers
Duo Glue can be purchased from Boot's, Mac, Inglot.

How To Apply:
Place a small amount of glue (pea sized) on the back of your hand or on some tinfoil. Taking a piece of the lashes from the box with the tweezers and gently dab the root of the lashes into the glue on the back of your hand. Starting at the inner corner first. This makes it easier starting here instead of the outer corners because if you start at the outside and work your way in the last bud of lashes might be too long and irritate your eye at the end. Apply the lashes as close to the root of you're own lashes. Making sure not to bring them too close to the inner corners so it doesn't irritate you. Look down with the eye you are applying them too and with you're other eye you can judge how close to get to the root of the lashes.

Once You have applied the first lash you then place the next lash right next to the end of the previous lash, always making sure to apply glue to the lashes first.

As the glue becomes tacky and more secure you can then lightly push the lashes upwards while your eye is open to make them curl up more. Keep applying them one after another right beside where each lash ends. If you don't you will create gaps in the lashes and they won't look as full.

Keep applying them until you reach the end of you're own lash line. Don't worry if the last lash comes off the end of your lash line too much this will give the illusion of a longer lash line (don't get carried away tho and start ticking more on)

Once you have applied them to the complete lash line they will look like this. You can build them up again with another layer over these by doing the exact same application. This will give them an even fuller, thicker look. When they where all applied I gently pushed them up a little into place so they are all in line with my eye open in the mirror.

These lashes will last a couple of days once they are looked after and have not got wet. Water will only break down the glue and destroy the shape of the lashes. You can also use the glue that comes with the pack of lashes it just isn't as strong as Duo Glue but its your own personal preference as to what glue you use :)
If you are applying them for a night out I would suggest to doing all of your eye makeup first and then applying the lashes so as its not effecting how you apply your makeup when they are on.

You can also re use and lashes when you take them off just make sure you remove the glue from the bud or band of the lashes before applying more.

I hope this helps anyone next time they go to apply individual false lashes and as always if you have any questions just ask :)

Monday's Beauty Bargain - PS Volumising Ultra Black Mascara

So this Monday Beauty Bargain is ONLY €2!!! Yeah thats right €2!!
We all love long curling lashes without having to wear false lashes or semi permanent lashes on a day to day basis and want a good mascara that won't cost too much.

I've chosen Pennys/Primarks Volumising Ultra Black Mascara from the PS range.
It glides onto the lashes so easy with the mascara wand. It coats each lash because of the head of the wand has small ball like shaped silicone applicators instead of a brush. With this head of the wand it doesnt pick up too much product making it easy to coat the lashes in a nice dark mascara.

There is no smell, dryness or irritating feeling from the product itself which I love and I'm sure everyone will appreciate. With it being so cheap in price a lot of people can be sceptical about it irritating your eyes or it being no good but this I can vouch for :)

The packaging is nice too a lovely shade of purple which I like about it also. The is only the PS logo on the front keeping it simple and the type and size on the opposite size.

As you can see from the picture below ive applie it to my eye to show everyone what its like. (I have minimal eyeshadow on so as you can really see the lashes)
It has made my lashes really dark, full and longer looking because its coated all of my lashes. To be honest I didnt think I had that many eyelashes because I had been wearing individual occasional lashes for quite awhile so lost a lot of lashes from them. They have grown baxk but quitw fair in colour so this mascara really grabs and coats all of your lashes.

I would definitely recommend this mascara to Everyone so get out and pick one up. A lot of the PS range tend to sell out quite quickly when they have just been restocked so make sure you stock up when you are there :)

I will have more of the PS range up soon with details and pictures so keep an eye out :)

Let me know if you plan on picking one uo or already have :)

Monday's Beauty Bargain Of The Week - Night Time Rollers

So as many if us love a bit of volume in our hair, I for one love me some :) I decided that this Monday had to be about the leave in rollers from Penny's
There are 8 in a pack and only €2.50. The fact that they are pink is an added bonus as some of you may already know or noticed I love anything pink!! :)
I would recommend that when buying these pick up more than one pack unless you have short fine hair.

These rollers can be put in your hair the night before and are sift enough to sleep in... You will still feel them in your hair and might irritate some people depending how you sleep. The longer they are in your hair the more the volume and height will last.
I normally pick up a section of hair back comb and spray hair spray to the roots and holding the straight up in a straight line (only picking up hair the width of or slightw smaller than the roller and not too thick of a section) starting at the ends of the hair place roller onto end and roll downwards to the root of the hair. Placing a clip or bobby pin to the roller and as close to the root to hold in place.
Working from the front to the back of the hair so from the fringe to the nape of the neck... This makes it easier to pick the hair up in sections.

When all the hair is in the rollers I lightly spray with hairspray again and leave in all day or the night before depending on the occasion.
Another thing I would suggest is if you have just washed your hair dry off the heavy wet and apply some volume moose to the roots and then pop the rollers in and leave in until hair is dry. You can even run the hair dryer over your hair when all in and then leave in again for as long as possible. This will really give the hair volume and a soft natural curl or shape to the hair.

I'm a massive fan of rollers and almost don't feel right getting ready without them in my hair. There are other brands like Sleep In rollers, and ones that can be picked up in a beauty suppliers also but are more expensive. I chose the Penny's or Primark range because of the price point. At the end of the day when they are applied correctly and left in long enough it doesn't matter which ones you use as long as your getting the effect and look your happy with :)

It can take a bit of getting used to when applying them and depending on your hair lenght you may need someone to give you a hand for your hair at the back, but trust me once you start using rollers you will never get ready or do your hair without them again!!

Let me know if you have any type of hair rollers and how you find them or if you plan on picking some up :)

Mondays Beauty Bargain Of The Week - Penny/Primark Sultry Lashes

What girl doesn't Love a good set of false lashes that Won't irritate the life out of you once their applied??
Well I've got the answer and they are only €1.50 !!! YES €1.50 With them being that price I had to make them a Bargain Or The Week feature.

I've used these lashes since Pennys brought them out which is a couple of years now. They are nice and soft and the band is nice and flexible so they are super easy to apply. They come with an athesive which will do the job but I apply mine with Duo Glue which can be picked up at any Boots store, Mac Cosmetics and Inglot Cosmetics.
The lashes can be re used once you don't get them wet just gently remove the glue from the band and they are good to use again :)
I always apply a layer of mascara to the top lashes and then apply the flase lashes this will help blend both false and natural lashes together. You can lightly apply mascara to the tips of the false lashes if you want to darken them up a bit more.

I cannot get enough of these falseies and they are a must have for anyone who wants to wear false lashes without them looking to heavy, full or heavy.
These can be worn during the day for a day look and also for a night time going out look.
Make sure you stock up when you're in Penny's because when they get re stocked they sell out very quick!!

*What I would suggest that you do is bend the lash in to a C curve shape by pinching either end of the band and slightly bend it back and forward, thus will make the lashes shape better to your lash line when applying them.
Measure the lashes up to you're eyes and placing the smaller end to the inside of you're eye, running it along your lash line if there is any if the lashes coming over the end of you're eye this how much you need to trim off the lashes.
Always trim the lash from the smaller/shorter end.

**Apply a thin layer of glue to the band of the lashes and allow to dry to a tacky consistency and place them as close to the root of the lashes as possible and press you're finger or tweezers on the inner and other corners of the eye.

Let me know if you have tried them or plan on getting them :)
