PS... Blender Sponges

At some point nearly everyone has heard about Penny's PS... Blender Sponges. They are only €1.50 each and come in a few different colours and shapes. I'm loving a lot of the PS... Cosmetic products. The lipsticks and lip liners are AMAZING and priced even better!! They are all super cheap so even when you want to treat yourself but have very little to spend you will find something to suit your budget

I picked up two of Blender Sponge's recently when I could finally manage to get my hands on them when they came back in stock. The orange and green shades stood out the most :)
They both have two different shapes and they are just based on personal preference. Both have a smaller pointed end to get closer to smaller areas of the face like around the nose, under eyes, and around the hair line.

I have tried the orange one live on my Snapchat @lipstickglitz is my account if you would like to see how they work.

How I got in....
So when you want to use your blender sponge you soak them in water and then give them a good squeeze and the sponge is left feeling damp. A lot of the time they change in texture and size but sadly this wasn't the case :(

This is before when only taking out of its packaging

This is the after pic when it was prepped for using it
You can see from the pic there is no difference.

I used my Makeup Forever HD foundation which is a medium to full coverage without looking too heavy. When I was applying the foundation with the blender sponge as I was bouncing it off my skin it was like it was soaking up the foundation rather than spreading it out all over the skin. It did spread it onto the skin with a lot of bouncing eventually but I ran out of foundation very quickly. It make my foundation look more like a light coverage rather than a medium/full coverage.

Sadly I was a little disappointed on how it turned out but this has just been on my skin and think they I would use an awful lot of product to get my foundation to its desired effect...if I could!
It was very hard to wash afterwards too, I couldn't get all the foundation out of the blender sponge.

Everyone's skin is different so they could work differently on you just for me it didn't sadly.
If you want a light foundation look then these would probably be perfect for you just watch the amount of product you are using!!
With them being only €1.50 in price each you can't really complain too much as its not like I forked out loads for them.

If you have picked any of these up let me know how you got on with them.

PS Love Your Hair Texturising Surf Hair Spray (review)

I picked up this Pennys Love Your Hair Texturising Surf Hair Spray last week and it was only €2.50 so said I'd give it a try and see how it goes.

So its designed to give you that wavy beach look and also give you some texture and volume. I have tried a few of these types of sprays before both in Salons and from the likes of Boots etc. Some I find can leave your hair with lots of knots and almost dirty looking.

This one I have to say I liked!!! You can spray it into wet/damp hair or when your hair is dry. I applied it to my hair the first time when it was freshly washed, dried of the heavy wet and sprayed it to my hair both mid lengths and to the roots. I then left it to dry the rest itself.. I didn't touch my hair for a few hours then.
It did have a wavy look without being greasy or dirty looking. There was very little knots which I liked and was super easy to brush my hair later that evening.
I applied it to my hair the next day on the mid section of the hair and gave it a shake all over at the roots also to give it a bit of a boost.
It actually looked better the second time around it was much more wavy looking and full of volume :)

If you sprayed this into your hair the  night before going out or early that day and put your hair into one big lose plat I'd say it would be much much more wavy!

Overall for €2.50 its deffo a bargain and will be using it more often.. its super handy when your on the go or if you haven't got time to blow dry your hair.

This would make a great stocking filler if your looking for just the simple bits and pieces that us women love..... Don't be too surprised if you find men using it next for that messy kind of look with their longer hair!!!

So as usual if you have tried this or is planning on picking it up let me know how you get on :)

Beauty Bargain of the Week - Batiste Dry Shampoo

So it's that time of the week again... Monday means Beauty Bargain and this week its for the hair.

Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo is only €2.75 in Penny's which is a great saving as most pharmacy's or stores is over the €3 mark.

Now this dry shampoo is not for everyone you either love or hate it! So personally I think it all depends on your hair type.
Mine is fine but I've a lot of it and can become greasy quite quickly Even so much as touching it will have it dirty looking.
I have to admit tho I'm a massive fan if this one.
It has a soft floral scent to it gives it a fresh smell in between washes.

It can be quite white and chalky when you first spray it to the hair. Leave it for a couple if mintutes to do its job and run your hands through your hair and brush remaining powder out of your hair.
This dry shampoo is great for adding volume to the roots and hair if you have fine or flat hair.

Some people apply it to their hair and sleep in it and brush out the next morning to really let it add volume and clean the hair in between washes.
Now when I say clean your hair in between washes I don't mean leave your hair for days if you wash your hair every second day/daily or weekly. This is designed to freshin up the hair if you don't have time to wash your hair or on the go. Don't use it as something to wash your hair or you will be very disappointed!!

If you have tried it or plan on picking it up let me know how you get on!

Beauty Bargain of The Week - Catrice Liquid Camoflage Concealer

So its that time of the week again..... And I'm delighted that this weeks Beauty Bargain is Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Camoflage High Coverage Concealer!!
For only €3.99 you get this little bit of magic in a tube :) :)

Its one of my Holy Grail products at the moment because of how good it is. I picked one up in the shade 010  Porcelain

It reads:
Liquid, high coverage and ultra long lasting concealer. Perfectly camouflages under eye circles, spots and even tattoos.

I have quite a lot of redness on my face at the moment from medication along with breakouts from dreaded horemones ( men have it way too easy )
You apply it with the wand to any areas of the face but I highlight with it so I apply it under my eyes bringing it down a little to give the highlighted effect.
Its a bit thicker in consistency which is great as it gives you that flawless effect because if its coverage.
It spreads well so you can use your fingers, sponge, beauty blender or brush.
I use my dome shaped kabuki brush!

It says its waterproof.... And it really is so the durability is incredible almost like the Mac Pro Longwear Concealer but slightly thicker in consitancy.
It doesn't crease either which we all love and need in our lives!!
You can also set with powder and bake over it which is great as it stays put and doesn't budge when wiping off excess powder.

For only €3.99 its a complete BARGAIN although I have noticed when Catrice stock their stands it sells out VERY FAST!!  There are two shades available and I went with the lightest shade possible for highlighting.
Although if you do have any blemishes or spots on your face around the nose, chin or jaw line and its paler than your foundation colour. Apply it to them areas first before your foundation as your foundation colour will hide the brightness that bit more.

This would make a perfect stocking filler for any lover of makeup for Christmas :)

Let me know what you think of it or plan on picking it up!! :)

Beauty Bargain of the Week - Tough Stuff

So this weeks Beauty Bargain of the Week is Cocoa Brown's Tough Stuff.
I was recently gifted with this amazing product from SimplyFoxy at the Blog Awards along with many other products!

I'm all for exfoliating once a week at least to remove dead skin cells and old tan to make your skin feel great and fresh for a new layer of false tan.
I normally use the Glove Your Body exfoliating mitt as some products can irritate my skin ( I'm one of the overally sensitive ones )

I wear false tan quite a lot nearly every week so I exfoliate 2/3 times a week. I applied this exfoliator with my mitt in the shower.... Its a lovely pink colour with small exfoliating balls in it to give it that 'rough' feeling on the skin.
With soft gently circular motions literally all dead skin and tan came away from my skin, I was pleasantly surprised!! :)
A little goes a long way too so it will last quite awhile.

I really loved it and my skin wasn't irritated in anyway. My skin was feeling so smooth and soft and made tanning go on super easy afterwards.
Its called the Tough Stuff for a reason and I reckon it could remove the most of stubborn tans!

You can pick up the Tough Stuff for €5.99 from SimplyFoxy online or Penny's.
As much as I love Penny's I'm so glad SimplyFoxy are online and deliver so as we don't have to venture out into the cold and rain in the Winter months ahead :) :)

If you have tried it or plan on picking it up make sure you let me know.

Beauty Bargain of the Week - Ziaja Argain Oil Hand Cream

With the weather getting colder and miserable we need to protect our skin. Heating systems, radiators, air conditioning units in the work place all dry out the skin aside from the dreaded Winter weather. So this is why this weeks Beauty Bargain is Ziaja Natural Argan Oil hand cream €3.99.

This Argan oil hand cream is amazing because of its properties... The argan oil and glycerin acts as a barrier against the cold and heat on the skin. While the minerals and vitamins repair the skin and prevent any more drying on the skin.

I've used and tried the Argan oil shower gel and it was amazing. The hand cream doesn't leave a greasy or tacky fininsh to the hands when you apply it. After a minute or two its completely soaked in leaving the skin feeling soft and plump. Its even got a soft mild scent to it from the Argan oil which is lovely but not over powering. There's nothing worse than a hand cream that stinks of a strong perfume!!

This hand cream is definitely one for beside the bed and applied morning and night and one for in the handbad for when you are on the go. Price wise its only €3.99 which is a bargain considering a pea sized amount goes a long way.

So make sure you get yours and get your skin protected and help the dryness or cracked skin on your hands before the cold makes it worse.

You can order online from here or most pharmacy's nationwide stock the Ziaja range.
